Station information
Lounge, an online radio station from Russia and part of the Radio Caprice network. The station on smooth, relaxing music designed for background listening. The playlist blends lounge, soft jazz influences, bossa nova moods and light electronic elements, creating a calm and comfortable atmosphere suitable for work, study or quiet evenings. The term lounge originally referred to music played in hotel lobbies, cafes, shops and other public spaces where a relaxed background sound was needed. The style is known for its jazz influence, intimate arrangements and improvisational feel. Its golden era is usually associated with the 1950s and 1960s, when orchestras led by artists such as Bert Kaempfert, James Last and Paul Mauriat popularized elegant instrumental versions of familiar melodies. In the 1990s the genre experienced a revival through retro compilations and new electronic interpretations, and today lounge remains a broad and flexible format of calm, atmospheric music.
