Privacy Policy for Volume Booster & EQ - Sonvo

1. General information

This Privacy Policy describes what data may be processed when the Volume Booster & EQ - Sonvo mobile application for Android (the “App”) is used, the purposes of that processing, and the choices available to users.

The App's package ID on Google Play is app.sonvo.volumebooster.

The App is designed to process and adjust sound on an Android device. It may provide an equalizer, audio effects, a limiter, volume boost, preamplification, a visualizer, and other audio-signal processing tools.

By using the App, users confirm that they have read this Policy. Users who do not agree with the Policy must stop using the App and remove it from their device.

2. Audio access and audio-recording permission

The App may require access to the device's audio session or audio signal for its audio-processing features and graphical visualizer. Android may describe the relevant system permission as microphone access or “Record audio” (RECORD_AUDIO). The App requests this permission before a feature that requires it is used.

Audio access is used to process sound in real time and apply the equalizer, effects, limiter, gain, preamplification, and other audio-pipeline settings. Access described by the system as audio recording is also required to obtain signal-shape and level data used to draw the graphical visualizer.

The App is not intended to record conversations or ambient sounds, or to create user audio recordings. The audio signal is processed locally on the device in real time. The App does not save the audio signal as an audio file or transmit its contents to the Developer, advertising services, Firebase, or any other third party.

Users may decline to grant the permission or revoke it in Android settings. Features that require audio access, including the visualizer, may then be unavailable or limited. Other App features will continue to work within the technical capabilities of the device and Android.

3. Data that may be processed

The Application itself does not require the creation of a user account and is not intended to directly collect the user's name, mailing address, telephone number, contacts, messages, photos or precise geolocation.

When using the Application and built-in third-party services, the following categories of technical and anonymized or pseudonymized data may be automatically processed:

• IP address, which may be used to estimate the country or general region;
• device model, manufacturer, Android version, language, and regional settings;
• Application version, SDK version and technical configuration;
• Android advertising ID, App Set ID, Firebase Installation ID, and other device, installation, or application identifiers, where their use is permitted by device settings and applicable law;
• Application launch events, screen transitions, clicks, feature usage, and ad interactions;
• data on performance, startup time, freezes, power consumption and other technical performance characteristics;
• crash information, including crash time, Application status, device model, system version, stack trace and other diagnostic information;
• information about ad impressions, ad interactions, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and measuring ad effectiveness;
• Subscription and purchase information such as product ID, purchase or subscription status, purchase token, and information necessary to verify user eligibility for paid features. The developer does not receive the user's full bank card number or other full payment details.

The specific data collected depends on the Android and App versions, the user's region, permissions granted, advertising and consent settings, and the configuration of third-party SDKs used by the App.

4. Purposes of data processing

The data may be processed for the following purposes:

• providing and maintaining the functionality of the Application;
• local audio signal processing and visualizer construction;
• saving custom sound settings on the device;
• displaying personalized or non-personalized advertising, depending on the user's region and age, device settings, and consent choices;
• measuring ad impressions, advertising effectiveness, and interactions with ads;
• analyzing how App features are used;
• detection, analysis and correction of failures and errors;
• ensuring security, preventing fraud and abuse;
• processing, checking and restoring purchases and subscriptions through Google Play;
• compliance with applicable legal requirements.

If the GDPR, EEA, UK or similar legislation applies, the basis for processing may be, as appropriate, the user's consent, the fulfillment of a service requested by the user, legitimate interests in maintaining the security and improvement of the Application, or compliance with legal requirements.

5. Advertising

The Application may contain advertising and may use Google AdMob, Google Mobile Ads SDK and related Google advertising technologies. Web pages associated with the Application may also use Google AdSense. Advertising services may automatically receive the IP address, approximate location, advertising and other device or application identifiers, information about interaction with the Application and advertising, as well as diagnostic data.

This data may be used to serve and tailor advertisements, limit the frequency of impressions, generate statistics, measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, ensure security, and prevent advertising fraud.

Depending on the user's region and the settings available, the App may request consent for personalized advertising. Users may also change available ad-personalization settings in Android and in their Google Account. Opting out of personalized advertising does not necessarily disable ads; non-personalized or limited ads may be shown instead.

6. Analytics and crash reports

The App may use Firebase, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, to collect usage statistics, assess stability, and diagnose technical problems.

Firebase can process installation ID, device and operating system information, Application version, interaction events, technical indicators, IP address, crash data, stack trace and other diagnostic information. This information is not intended to directly identify the user, but some identifiers and technical data may be considered personal or pseudonymized data under applicable law.

Audio signal and audio content are not transmitted to Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics.

7. Subscriptions and purchases through Google Play

Paid features and subscriptions in the Application are purchased through the Google Play payment system. Payment is processed by Google in accordance with the terms of Google Play, Google's privacy policy and the user's payment profile settings.

The developer does not receive or store the user’s full bank card details and does not manage the payment infrastructure. The app or developer may receive technical information from Google to confirm purchases, determine subscription status, provide paid features, and restore previously made purchases.

Users manage or cancel subscriptions and change payment methods through Google Play. Refund terms and available support options are governed by Google Play policies and applicable law.

8. Third-party services

The Application may use Google Play Services, Google Play Billing, Google AdMob, Google Mobile Ads SDK, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdSense for associated web pages, if applicable, as well as other technical libraries and services necessary for the distribution, security, diagnostics and operation of the Application.

Third-party providers process data under their own terms, privacy policies, retention periods, and procedures for exercising user rights. The Developer selects and configures the services used in the App to the extent possible, but does not operate Google's infrastructure and cannot fully control every processing operation performed by Google or another independent provider.

9. Data storage and transmission

The audio signal used for processing and visualization is processed in the device's RAM in real time and is not stored by the developer.

Equalizer, effects, gain, and other custom settings may be stored locally on the device until the user resets them, clears the App data, or deletes the App.

Technical, advertising, analytics, diagnostic and payment data may be retained by Google and other providers for periods of time specified by them in accordance with their policies, service settings and legal obligations. Processing may take place on servers in countries other than the user's country.

The developer uses reasonable measures to protect the data under its control. However, no method of storing or transmitting data can guarantee absolute security.

10. Data deletion and user rights

The application does not create its own user account and does not store a user profile on the developer's server. Local settings can be removed by clearing the Application data in the Android settings or deleting the Application.

Anonymized or aggregated data may no longer indicate which user it relates to. For this reason, the Developer cannot locate and delete an individual record if it is no longer linked to an identifiable user.

The data that Google Play, Google AdMob, Firebase, Google Analytics or other third party providers process as independent service providers resides in their systems. The developer may not have the technical access, legal authority, or ability to identify and delete such data at the user's request. Available actions, including changing advertising settings, deleting Google account data, managing history and subscriptions, are performed by the user through the Android, Google Play settings, Google account, or through the support of the relevant provider.

This limitation does not affect the user's rights with respect to personal data, if applicable. Depending on the country, the user may have the right of access, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, opposition, data portability and withdrawal of consent. The developer will review the request and comply with applicable requirements to the extent of its technical capabilities and legal obligations.

If the user contacts support, the content of the letter, email address and other information provided by the user may be processed to respond to the request, ensure security and comply with legal obligations. The user should not send passwords, full payment details or unnecessary personal data to support.

11. Children's privacy

The application is an audio processing tool for a general audience and is not specifically intended for children. The developer does not knowingly ask children for their name, address, telephone number, contact information or other directly identifiable information.

Users who have not reached the age at which they may independently consent to data processing or make purchases in their country may use the App only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians should supervise Android permissions, advertising settings, and Google Play purchases.

Advertising and analytics SDKs may automatically process the technical data described in this Policy. The App's target audience and Google Play settings must match its actual advertising configuration and the requirements of Google Play Families. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal data to the Developer may contact [email protected].

12. User choices

Users may:

• grant or revoke permission to record audio in the Android settings;
• use the advertising consent request available in the Application if it is displayed in the user’s region;
• clear local data and Application settings;
• delete the Application;
• manage purchases and subscriptions through Google Play;
• contact the Developer or the relevant third-party provider with questions about data processing.

Disabling permissions or certain types of processing may limit the visualizer, advertising, subscription verification, diagnostics, or other features for which that processing is technically necessary.

13. Changes to the Policy

This Policy may be updated when App features, SDKs used by the App, Google Play requirements, or applicable law change. The current version will be published at the address shown at the beginning of this document with a revised effective date.

Where appropriate, material changes may also be communicated within the App or on the App's Google Play page.
